Field-Proven Innovations -Scaled to Mass Production

Europe is investing heavily to restore defence readiness and close critical capability gaps. Investment alone does not deliver operational capability or industrial resilience. Across the EU, parallel development continues to produce overlapping solutions that are over-engineered, cost-inefficient and slow to reach Initial Operational Capability (IOC). Many systems pass controlled field tests under ideal weather conditions but many fail under real “near”combat conditions.

War = Economics

Inefficient programmes, limited scalability and slow industrial ramp-up directly weaken the European Defence Technological and Industrial Base (EDTIB). In a protracted conflict, decisive factors are manufacturability, cost efficiency, supply-chain robustness and the ability to sustain and replace capabilities at scale.

Innovation must be measured by operational relevance, speed to fielding, interoperability and scalability. Beyond Mission & Impossible Ltd. (BMI) supports defence companies and procurement authorities in scaling field-proven solutions to EU- and NATO-aligned mass production. BMI reduces acquisition risk, shortens delivery timelines and strengthens European industrial resilience.

Lessons Learned From Ukraine

BMI ® maintains direct insight into the Ukrainian operational environment through participation in the Ukrainian defence innovation platform Brave1, and close cooperation with the State Border Guards of Ukraine and their network of 50+ partner companies.

This provides BMI® access to “near”combat and field test locations and evaluation facilities for industry partners, enabling objective validation of systems before procurement and large-scale deployment.

The threat is shared — Europe’s response must be unified.

Our vision: European defence acquisition and industrial scaling must align with operational realities.

Real innovation only succeeds when backed by cross-border industrial cooperation and disciplined coordination.
